A German house firm plans to launch its first rocket from the Shetland Isles later this 12 months.
Rocket Manufacturing facility Augsburg (RFA) has signed a multi-year cope with the SaxaVord spaceport being in-built Unst for the primary launch of its satellite-carrying rockets.
After testing on the web site in mid-2023, it hopes to launch to a 500km orbit by the top of the 12 months.

Earlier this week, the horizontal launch of a rocket from the wing of a Boeing 747 resulted in failure after its second stage suffered an “anomaly”.
